Privacy Policy (UK GDPR)

MMTUK POLICY RESEARCH GROUP LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates https://mmtuk.org.

We are the data controller for personal data processed via our website and services.

How we collect, use, store, and share personal data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Data you provide: name, email, organisation, role, messages, newsletter sign-ups, event registrations, donation details (via our payment processor), preferences.
Data collected automatically: IP address, device/browser info, pages viewed, referring site, approximate location, session data, cookies or similar tech.
Data from third parties (where relevant): analytics platforms, payment providers, email/newsletter tools, event tools (limited to what’s needed).

  • Provide and secure our site/services (legitimate interests; contract if you request something from us).
  • Newsletters and updates (consent; withdraw any time).
  • Events and community engagement (legitimate interests / contract).
  • Donations and payments (contract; legal obligation for accounting).
  • Analytics and improvements (consent for non-essential cookies; legitimate interests for essential operations and security).
  • Legal and compliance (legal obligations / legitimate interests).

We keep data only as long as needed, then delete or anonymise. Examples: mailing list (until you unsubscribe); event/donation records (6 years for accounting); analytics (up to 14 months or shorter if supported).

We use trusted processors under Data Processing Agreements, e.g.:
Email/newsletter: MailerLite
Analytics: Google Analytics 4
Donations: Stripe
Hosting/CMS: Amazon Web Services/ Wagtail.
We do not sell personal data.

If data is transferred outside the UK/EEA, we use appropriate safeguards (UK IDTA/Standard Contractual Clauses and supplementary measures).

You can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and withdraw consent. Email contact@mmtuk.org. You can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk); we’d appreciate a chance to resolve issues first.

Our services aren’t directed to children under 16. If you believe we’ve collected data from a child, contact us.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege, logging). No method is 100% secure.
